Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. The weather has been rather hit and miss with this place ever since I arrived in Australia and I had my fingers crossed. I had 3 nights here before i was going on my sailing trip which was fab as it is party central and it feels like there isnt that many places to go clubbing up the east coast. On arriving at my hostel I was sharing a room with some guys i'd met at Hervey bay and also Sarah who i'd met on the Oz bus. We decided to go out that night and we had such a laugh. We went to Morroccos and the onto mama Africas. In Morroccos there was a wet t-shirt competition which some of the girls from the bus entered ad there were decent prizes up for grabs, we shouted and screamed so loudly for them but unfortunately they didnt win. Bev and Emma had arrived in Airlie the day before so we met up with them too. It was a funny night and we ended up dancing the night away...the next day I was a tad tired! The weather picked up a bit and we went to the lagoon to sunbathe a bit, it was such a hot day I thought I was going to melt! We had a few more chilled nights and then it was time to go on our trip....
