Town of 1770, Agnes Water..
This is the last place up the coast that you can surf and having met with some fab nutty canadians on my fraser island trip i decided to come to 1770. Bev and Emma had decided to go to Rockhampton so once again I was by myself. As the Oz Experience driver dropped me off in the middle of nowhere I was picked up by a transit bus which runs between the middle of no where and 1770. The rain was pouring down and I was feeling disheartened again as there were a few activites that i really wanted to do there.
I arrived at my hostel and it was one of the nicest hostel I have stayed at. Due to the fact that it was peeing with rain everyone was sitting around the tv watching films and within a few minutes I had got chatting to two english girls who I ended up going surfing with that afternoon. The rip was really bad and was draggin us across the beach so after only about an hour of surfing we were so knackered that we decided to go back to the hostel. The evening was really nice and chilled and it was just what i needed after the fraser trip. we just hung out and met a few other people...everyone was fab.
The next day i had booked onto a "Scooteroo" trip which is where you get your own motorbike and they take you out around Agnes Water and the Town of 1770. These are scooters but they look like bikes and It was the best activity I have done since being here. I did wonder at their health and saftely record as I had heard a few little stories but figured that it was probably just a bunch of k*** heads that were messing about that got hurt...not really the case! The only thing they ask you is "Have you ridden a bicycle before?" and as I answered yes I was given a sexy little pink bike.....safety briefing consisted of "dont fall off!" So, off we went... around some beautiful roads over hills, roads around the beaches etc, it was gorgeous and so much fun to be on a bike! I did keep thinking that if my mum and dad had been there they would have been pooping themselves as the only protective clothing was a helmet! It was so amazing and I am so glad i did it, it was sooo cheap as well, well worth the 45 bucks!
Once again I had a really nice chilled night and met even more fab people, I was so shattered after the scooteroo-ing that I was in bed by 11! The last day was raining as well so I went on the free bus tour around town and then ended up sitting with s lovely german girl in a cafe for about 3 hours chatting and then she went on the scooteroo tour. In the evening we all went to their local pub and then back to the hostel to hang out some more....early morning ahead of me and I was off to the Cattle Station in Kroombit....
