Betty is parked up with about 20 other vans in the camping car aire at Amboise on an island on the Loire.
We left our campsite on the riverside, it proved a good stop especially in the heat of the last couple of days. We had plotted the town of Amboise with its impressive Château cum Palace as our next stop, and an hour and twenty minutes later we were pulled up at the gate of the aire. It was busy but had spaces, we pulled in and had a cup of tea before starting our exploring.
We walked back to the bridge ready to cross to the town and Château, but Rena’s knee started to ache and it was uphill all the way. So we admired it from the river, we then made up for it by going into a nearby restaurant for lunch, moules & frites all round washed down with a large beer. We then waddled back to Betty with full bellies.
After resting our eyes for a while we ventured out a couple more times along the river with Missey stopping to catch a photo with a revealing statue of Leonardo Da Vinci. The aire has filled up now so we’re having a DVD night.
