We are tucked into the aire in Gourney-en-Bray tonight with the rain falling on Betty’s roof threatening to keep us (Rena) awake.
We had a quick breakfast this morning and the used the services at Dreux to empty and fill as required. We set course for our next stop at Gourney-en-Bray hoping to catch a supermarket open on a Sunday morning as some do now, but alas we never passed one that was open. We did pass a campsite at Les Andelys that we had stayed in with the caravan twice before, with the ruins of one of Richard the Lionhearts castles high above. We pulled in for a break and a comfort stop in the car park outside to reminisce.
We arrived at the aire early at about 1240hrs and dashed into town to catch any shop still open. We made the bread shop with 5 mins to spare. Warm baguette for lunch, we then strolled around the rest of the town looking at the closed shops. We then spent the rest of the day cleaning and sorting Betty’s cupboards, while watching the coming and goings at the service point which seems a popular place. Moving on tomorrow for a shopping day.
