Hi Everyone! Well we are now in Wanaka, where we have spent the last 3 nights. So nice to be in the one place for more than one night! To add to this, our accomodation has only been $20 a night (approx 6 quid) - all the rooms are ensuite and we have TVs that play about 4 movies a day. It's so great! Well we arrived in Franz Josef last night - its a huge place - one whole street! This is a fairly common site in New Zealand and it impresses me each time that people live here permantly! The whole reason for visiting this place is to walk on the Franz Josepf Glacier - the steepest glacier in the world I'll have you all know. We all set off around 10ish once we had all the gear on - waterproof trousers, jackets, gloves, hats etc. It took us about 45mins...

Well today we arrived at Lake Manihupa. There is literally nothing here except for this accommodation we are staying in. It is run by Les, an 80 yr old man who is absolutely amazing and has such a wicked sense of humour. As it was fancy dress tonight, the girls decided to be in one room and the guys in the other so we could get ready together. The guys had to cross dress and the girls could do anything so we decided to go as a........herd of cows!!! check ou...

This picture unfortunately doesnt correspond to Westport at all but I dont have a photo and Ithought this one was really nice. so there we go.... Anyway, we arrived in Westport today. Not a huge amount going on here so we all decided to go to the cinema to see Pirates of the Carribean....must say I was hugely disappointed. It was all a little cheesy but still, we got to watch Jonny Depp which is always a pleasure!

Today we headed over to the south island. The boat was cancelled yesterday due to really bad weather (a lot of people being sick apparently! so something to look forward to!) This also meant that we hadnt lost Ben and Tara as they couldnt get on the boat so they are now going to stick with us until Franz Joseph which is cool! We all managed to get on the boat and it did sail thankfully with very small amount of bumpiness thank god! We entertained ourselves...
