Got picked up first thing this morning for our bus to Mui Ne. We met a couple on the bus (Brigge and Layne) who were also on our diving boat yesterday. We were basically the only people on the bus and had it to ourselves, other than 1 or 2 locals and the crazy bus driver. We soon made the decision to not look forward, at all - it was too scary.
We survived and got dropped off (again having to tell the driver to stop) right in the centre of Mui Ne, which is basically just one long stretch of road over 4 miles long, with hotels, restaurants, bars etc on either side but nothing beyond them.
The 4 of us wandered round a few guesthouses all with rooms for 20$ or more! After an hour in the sun with our backpacks, the wandering became an unsteady stumble and mirages started to appear in the road. After much searching we were able to find one for 12$ and that included a DVD player - WOW FANCY!! although no dvds so it was just for show really.
We dumped our bags and headed straight for the beach like a couple of giddy kids! It didn't take us long to work out that this is completely rammed full of kite surfers, So that puts the sea out unless you want to be in a collision with a hard board and because of the ridiculous wind that was so great for kite boarding sunbathing was a no go either!
We didn't want to take up kite surfing, suicide swimming or windbathing so w hired a scooter and went about 3 miles down the road to where we knew Will and Monica were staying. After a quick catch up with them we went out for tea then met up with Brigge and Layne for a few beers before bedtime.
