Up at 5:30am for our 6am bus (which didnt actually turn up until 7am) to go to the Demalitarized Zone (DMZ). The DMZ is the area of land around the Ben Hai River, that seperates the North and South of Vietnam. 8am start this morning and was lead to our boat by the most unfriendliest girl we have come across so far. Devil woman is her name. We soon set sail along the perfume river - in the rain...again! The trip took us to several tombs and pagoda's and when you have a guide who speaks very little English and doesn't accompany you to some of the sites, we and quite a few others soon lost interest! Arrived at 9am to the town of Hue- Bombarded by touts and finally settling for a hotel at 10$ a night, (it was only 10$ because we were on the seventh floor of the hotel with no lift - noticing a theme of steps for our travels!) we dropped our bags off and had a look round Hue.
