Lonely Beach

Another day in Paradise...first had to deal with the cockroach that was perched just by the bed. We then headed for breakfast and sat with a girl from Russia we met 3 days ago and only just found out her name, Mary. Up until then we'd simply been referring to her as "Russia".

Claire spent most of the day on the beach whilst David spent most of the day in the shade. Later in the afternoon we rented a kayak. Claire originally said 3 hours, David recommended one...after 20 minutes Claire was absolutely knackered from paddling so we had to head back.

We had some tea - pizza. There is only so much noodles and rice you can eat! Then just chilled out for the rest of the night.

Plan to go to the south of the island tomorrow, to a small fishing village on stilts in the ocean called Bang Bao.

Oh forgot to mention, David found out today that the staff here have no sense of humour - when going to the bar this afternoon he missed a step and tripped, falling full length into a table and sending chairs flying. Embarassed, he stood up and laughed it off - nobody else found it funny, they just stared.
