My Family Travels
Today we were able to spend all day at Yellowstone. So we decided to do the South Loop today and do the north tomorrow. We did a ton!
Visitor Centers – We visited every visitor center around this loop. Connie and I found where each center held their national park passport stamp. I have been collecting these for several years and have introduced Connie to it. It is a fun way to remember all the national parks I have been to. I also like to collect a magnet from each national park I have been to. You should see our fridge at home! I love to look at it and see all the fun parks I have been to.
Canyon – I had not seen the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone the last time I was here, so this time I definitely wanted to see it. In this Canyon area we stopped at a few overlooks to see this beautiful place. We saw both the Upper and Lower waterfalls of the canyon.
Wildlife – You always know that there is some sort of wildlife around when there is lots of slow moving traffic. During these slow moving times we have seen elk and buffalo. We didn't see a ton of elk, but we saw so many buffalo! There were even times where the bison were right next to the road. One time I took a picture of the bison and he bellowed at me! You can see his mouth open in the picture. These animals are so beautiful!
Old Faithful - This area was the last part of our day. The area around Old Faithful was packed with people when we got there because the geyser was supposed to go off in 10 minutes. Perfect Timing! It is so much fun to watch this geyser. After we saw Old Faithful, we went to the Old Faithful Inn to see how this old grand hotel looks. This would be fun to stay in someday. Then for a bit Paul, John, and I walked around some of the other geysers and pools in the area. By this time thought I was so tired from all the walking we had done!
