My Family Travels
Here are the highs and lows of the first 2 days of our awesome honeymoon!
+ Southwest Airlines
I love flying Southwest, even though the open seating can be difficult, especially when you want to sit with someone. But the planes are comfortable and the flight attendants are funny and friendly. As a bonus I got these flights for super cheap because I have the southwest credit card! The bonus points off of the card helps us also with the cost of hotels throughout our trip.
- Hertz rental car
We get to the line at the Las Vegas airport after 10pm. It didn't look terrible, but it did seem like most of the people were renting from the same company. And then we stood in line. And stood in line. And stood in line some more. I don't rent cars much, so maybe it does take forever to get through lines. But we stood in line for almost an hour! The lady who helped us was kinda nice, although we were in no mood for her pushing of the really expensive stuff. We just wanted to get our car and go to the hotel. Once we got out to the car, it was in the wrong stall. I will say our car is nice and not smelly. We do get XM radio, which is a plus.
+ Monte Carlo Resort, Las Vegas, NV
The check in lady was so nice here. The room was nice. We had a king sized bed. From this trip, we are going to have a hard time going back to our queen bed. Nothing too much else to say about the hotel. Very nice for what we paid for.
+ Cafe (inside the Monte Carlo)
This is where we had breakfast. We shared the Ranchero breakfast skillet. It had chorizo in it! Yum! The only problem was how much the say drinks are. My coffee was $3 and Paul's juice was $5! Otherwise it was great.
+ BurGR (inside Planet Hollywood)
We ate lunch at Gordon Ramsey's new burger restaurant. Again we shared the yummy chicken burger with bacon and mustard bbq sauce. The fries came with jalapeno ketchup and curry ketchup. Very fun to try!
- Vegas weather
It is hot here. Enough said. I'm ok with 70s and 80s of the midwest and not 114+ that Vegas has.
+ Eiffel Tower (Paris resort)
We went up to the top (as far as they let you go) in the Eiffel Tower of the Paris resort. So much fun! The view was fantastic! There are wildfires going on outside of Vegas right now and we could see the smoke very clearly from the view. It would have been so great if the Bellagio fountains were putting on their show at the same time.
+ In N Out Burger
After our long drive from Vegas to Temecula, CA, we were hungry! Paul said that he would love to try In N Out Burger while we are in California. There happened to be one about a mile away from our hotel! Perfect! For a fast food restaurant, the burgers were great. That's all we got from there. One thing from the list of "only in California" checked off.
+ Fairfield Inn and Suites, Temecula, CA
This hotel was super great! The staff was friendly. There was a special happy hour out with drinks and snacks. The room was neat and clean. Very happy with this choice! Wish we could have stayed here longer.
