Well that's it. Australia is done! I'm sad such a big part of the trip is over but so excited that the biggest part is about to begin! Australia was awesome. The first two weeks I wasn't so lucky with good weather and the second two I was very lucky. Although it was boiling hot the whole time. For that, I'm glad to be going to a colder place! I can't wait to wear my jeans! Or even a hoody!
I've met some incredible people in Oz! From my German friend who trekked with me in Cronulla, to the Swedish in Byron Bay, right down to the English of Brisbane and Noosa! The beaches have been brilliant! That's what you expect from Australia and its what you get. The other thing you get however is an empty wallet. It's been expensive to say the least but worth every penny! Highlights have to be trekking the Blue Mountains, kayaking with dolphins in Byron Bay, visting Australia Zoo, sailing Whiteheaven Beach, jet skiing Magnetic Island and of course snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef!
So to New Zealand! I'm so so so excited. I'm finally going to the one place that's been sitting on the top of my list for years! It's about to get a fantastic check!
Unfortunately the trip there wasn't so smooth. My connection bus picked me up late but arrived at the airport as planned. The plane however was an hour late leaving the tarmac. It wasn't all bad as my excitement carried me through the wait! I started a new book an settled down waiting for the boarding call!
Onboard I enjoyed the safety briefing done by Bear Grills mountaineering the Kiwi landscape. Definitely something new, and only the Kiwis could get away with it!
I then decided to further fuel my excitement by watching the second Lord Of The Rings. Which, no surprise, the airline had all 3 movies, the hobbit and hours of behind the scene extra footage all as an option for passengers to watch.
I arrived in Auckland to a thunderstorm! Fantastic! And no thats not sarcasm! Rain falling, cooler whether, perfect for me! Going to eat some food and get an early night ready for hopefully a packed day tomorrow!
