For dinner tonight we decided we would eat out and try some local cuisine. As we sat outside the state capital trying to figure out where we were going, a local man that worked in the capital stopped and chatted with us about what we were looking for and he ended up giving us a few of his fav choices. We picked his favorite local spot which was Atrisco which was a New Mexican food place. The food was quite good! As it turned out it was also at a mall which happened to have a bug museum and as anyone that knows us, we had to go in! The men running were definitely nerdy bug guys but their passion was palpable. We were there close to closing and the guy wanted us to go so badly he was going to let us in for free! His collection of pinned bugs was amazing and worthwhile for anyone who enjoys that kind of thing but to me the amazing thing was that this guy told me he had lived in Chico and worked with Dr. Kistner, the noted entomologist that taught at Chico State when I was in the biology program. Small, small world!
