The Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum Well this was exciting and a little freaky! This was a fully functioning asylum from before the civil war until 1994. It is the second largest handcut stone building in the world. It was just like the movies and frankly just as scary even in the day. West Virginia Capital was not as interesting as some of the other capitals we have seen so far, but still was neat to see. With it's white columns and grand rotunda it was a beauty in itself! And the best thing was the echoing domes, perfect for doing the Mocking Bird whistle with the sisters!
