Today was our trip to the ABQ Biopark in Albuquerque, NM. Sarah found this place online when we were planning and decided this is where she'd like her birthday outing to be even though it happened after her bday. This place has an aquarium, botanical garden, and zoo. We skipped the botanical garden but did venture into both the aquarium and zoo. Although we all felt that the aquarium is way below the level of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, to which we hold all others, it was a reasonable for a local aquarium. We only saw one dead fish which was a bonus! The zoo was pretty good. We felt it was at or just above the quality of the Sacramento Zoo. Most of the animals were out and available to see which made it tolerable to be in the heat most of the time. It was a hotter day (high 90s - compared to the 80s we've been enjoying) so by 4:15 we were all wiped out and ready to push on.
We are heading out of Albuquerque toward the panhandle of Texas and then onto Oklahoma City where we will see our second capital for this trip. We are up to 10 capitals seen in total so far!
