28th April - 1st May

So the wife finally graced us with her presence - it's so great to have my playmate back ;-) We've comfortably settied ourselves into Florida life.....it's such a treat having family here, a great way to start this mammoth trip.

We've only been here a few days and already it feels like months, we've been doing so much! Cindy and Sharon get home by 2pm and the sun only goes down at about 8pm, so we've got all afternoon to play. Our evenings have consisted of dinners out, bbq's at home, sitting round drinking and chatting til the wee hours and being spoilt with plenty boat trips.

Sat & Sun we spent on the boat cruising the Gulf of Mexico. The only other white sands and turq water we've experienced is the Maldives - we have been blown away by the beauty of Largo / Clearwater, Florida. We spotted swordfish yesterday and the Gulf appears to be a busy playground for dolphins!!

We've bought our car, got it licensed, serviced, insured and took out the back seats, pity about the cockroaches that spilled out the boot....anyhoo, hopefully this heat will fry the b******s!! We are going out today to buy all the camping stuff, and soon we'll start this great american road trip - but until then....we plan to lap up the Florida sun for another 2 weeks.
