I haven't done a blog update in a while but to be honest we haven't really been doing much exciting. Andrew went home to New Zealand for James Murdoch's wedding last month and that was a bit of a horrible time for me but I managed to get through it. I picked up an awful virus from the office so was really quite sick in the second week he was away. I never thought I was going to miss him as much as I did but I suppose being on the other side of the World and alone in our little flat was never going to be a very nice time. I can't express how excited I was to see him when he returned!
I have just received good news that my work contract has been extended until November 1st so I was very pleased to hear this. Initially I was employed as a Maternity cover and my contract was due to finish at the beginning of May but they want to keep me on. This is a relief I suppose because I was starting to wonder what I was going to do and how hard it may have been to find a new job. The head of my department ideally wanted to put me on a permanent contract but unfortunately was unable to do this because of the timing and it being the end of the financial year. She said that she has requested for this to happen so that is positive. I am still looking out for auditions and am not totally giving up on doing some theatre stuff because I really miss it! I am really enjoying going to the Gym but it just doesn't quite satisfy my needs like performing does!
The week after Andrew returned from New Zealand he was teaching a programming course so that was a very full on week to come back to. He had seven students he was training and three of them hardly spoke any English which made it very challenging! He had very positive feedback from the course and he really enjoyed doing something a bit different to normal which was good. He is teaching another course this week and another next week and will probably do more of this over the coming year. He has also been working on a project for a large bank and that is going really well and he continues to impress his bosses.
Last Sunday we met up with the Molineaux family at a neat Pub in Fulham called The Crabtree. Gay and Chris Molineaux are over visiting their new Granddaughter, Isobel who is just gorgeous! It was such a lovely afternoon and it was so fabulous to see their girls, Anna and Kate, after many many years. Anna and I were Kindergarten buddies so our friendship goes a long way back and they are very special family friends. Gay gave me lots of proper Mum hugs so they'll keep me going for a while!
Richard and Anne (Andrew's parents) are coming over in May and will be in the UK for about a month so we are very much looking forward to that. We are starting to put some plans together and Andrew and I are going to take some leave so we can have a couple of long weekends outside of London with them. Very exciting! There will be lots more to blog about then!
We have just this minute booked a hotel in Cardiff, Wales for Easter weekend at the end of this month which we are very excited about! We managed to get a really good deal staying right in the heart of the City. We have free first class train tickets on any First Great Western line because of our major train problems we encountered on our way back to London from Gloucester so we will use these for this trip. I will now do some research and organise our weekend so we see all the top attractions and make the most of our time there. YAY! Something to look forward to!
