We have moved into our new place and we are very happy where we are. We are only 5 minutes walk to Hammersmith tube station where we also have access to loads of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Ideal! It feels very safe and our place is so clean and tidy and has everything we need. This is our third night here so we are pretty set up now and thankfully we didn't have to buy too much!
On our first night here we had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant in South Kensington (Bella Italia) with some friends from NZ. It was Claire Richards' Birthday who we know from theatre stuff in NZ so her housemate came along as well as Grant, Terry and Amber. It was such a lovely evening and so great to be able to celebrate this occasion with such special friends and in London! Claire works in Hammersmith just up the road from us so we will be able to catch up heaps which is super cool.
We did a few loads of washing yesterday and had a few things we wanted to buy so it was a bit of a boring day but we had a lovely meal at home thanks to Marks & Spencer which we have fallen in love with for food shopping. It is so reasonable and fresh and we both have so many options to choose from. Just perfect!
Today we had a bit of a lazy morning but visited Buckingham Palace this afternoon which was awesome. We took some photos and wandered around nearby and we came across a pub (Shakespeare's) that looked interesting so we had a drink there. Then we hopped on the tube back home which was incredibly busy but not too much of a problem. We are getting used to being squished like sardines in a carriage of strangers but it can be very hot and uncomfortable at times. We just need to try avoid travelling on the tube at peak times if we don't need to and we won't encounter busy times like this.
Andrew is pretty certain he'll have a job next week or as soon as we get back from France on the 15th August so that's good. Ideally I want to get a part time job in retail or something meaning I can do some auditions and things for shows. I saw lots of job vacancy signs in store windows when we visited the big Westfield nearby so i might start there. It would mean I could walk to work which would be ideal!
Well I think that's all for now but I'll blog again soon when we have more to tell. The South of France is our next adventure and I know we will have a fantastic time there. So exciting!
