...I dive again and manage to take some decent pictures at last
...I am surprised to find out there's an alcohol selling ban in place between 6pm and 9am in all shops here. Crazy!
...I discover three different terms for PIN here: NIP, PIN and firma electrónica. And counting...
...I walk down the waterfront when I hear a hearty Polish: "Biżuteria! Zapraszam do sklepu!" ("Jewelry! Come visit my shop!"). And so I meet Sergiusz, married to a local girl and running a local business, with a beautiful baby girl of 2. If you're in Cozumel, he's on the waterfront not far from the pier and his stuff looks exquisite! I ask him how he knew I was Polish. He said he called out in Polish on a whim cause he never uses it here. Such a small world...
...I got to a restaurant and eat a nice meal but forget my cashiers and cards at the hotel. I pay them later but Montezuma's revenge catches up with me anyway. I'm sick in bed for a few hours. Well better that than an Indian hospital.
...I take the ferry back to the mainland, and expect the commercials displayed this time to be about Playa del Carmen (that's where we're headed now) but no, they're still for Cozumel attractions...
...I go to my apartment rented from a nice Italian guy, who tells me that the fee of booking.com is not included in the price (20%) so I have to pay it or we cancel the reservation but I can't rate my stay afterward. Nice move, of course I won't pay the commission. And clever because I have some qualms: standard is lower than expected from photos, two rooms in the apartment are rented to two different people and we share a bathroom and breakfast is indeed included but I have to make it myself and it consists of some toast, cheap yogurt and cheese and some lousy ham. Not even tea or coffee...
...I sleep like a baby - tomorrow diving in the legendary cenotes!
