Today we would be leaving New Zealand, and what an incredible experience we had had. A whole month of Campervan adventures. We'd seen everything we set out to, done all that we wanted to and had such a laugh along the way! Now it was time to move onto another adventure...Fiji!
Before we took the Campervan back to Apollo, we spent an hour using the library wifi so we could book yet another flight. We then set google maps to take us to the Apollo station but when we arrived in the centre of Auckland, we thought something must have gone wrong! By this point we were panicking about getting to Apollo in time before heading to the airport. Tensions were high! Once I managed to find wifi again and realised it was take us another 30 minutes to get there, we were very worried!
Thankfully, we got there in time and they even brought me out 3 boxes of chocolate to apologise for the horrible assistant manager in Christchurch.
Everything went smoothly with handing back the van which was perfect and they provided us a free transfer to the airport. We checked in without any hassle and were on our way.
After the 3 hour flight, we slowly descended into Nadi International Airport. Outside the aeroplane window it all looked so green and tropical, I was bursting with excitement. I've dreamt of going to Fiji since I was about 14 when my bestie Bridget and I used to obsess over the Fiji water bottles. I'd always imagined it as total paradise, and I could wait to explore!
We were sat at the arrivals lounge waiting for our hostel pickup and Rhys, a friendly New Zealander and his girlfriend Brittany started chatting to us as they were going to the same hostel. On arriving at Bamboo Backpackers hostel which was right on the beach front, we were all excited and so happy to be there. The hostel looked amazing with a lovely bar and restaurant at the front. We decided to go to our rooms and change, and then meet back at the bar for food and drinks.
We ended up meeting loads of fellow travellers that night and had such a laugh. I felt so relaxed there and just knew we were going to have the best time travelling Fiji, I couldn't wait!
