Southhaven MS to Biloxi, Mississippi - 360 miles
95 Sunny - Humid
Day 107
We decided to travel Labor Day hoping the truck traffic would not be as heavy. That was a good decision. It was going to be a very hot, steamy day and we would like to arrive at our destination, Southercomfort Camping Resort by afternoon.
The traffic was relatively light, except for the route we took through Hattiesburgh. The bridge clearance was just enough for us to fit under.Hate those bridges!
We noticed how treed the roadsides had become. It was so much more like home.
As we got to Biloxi we set up quickly and headed to the beach.Abbie was reluctant to go in the water. She did like the smell of the salt air, as we all did.The moisture in the air felt great. We did go in the water a bit.We noticed some oil residue and got right back out.The beaches on the north central Gulf Coast are so wonderful. We can hope that they will recover from the oil spill in the near future. The sun was almost down and the sky was tropical blue and pink.
We were only three nights from home.We headed back to the RV Park for a well-deserved night of rest.
It was beautiful!
