It's James' birthday today and he'd decided that after the crazy day yesterday he would like to take it easy today and maybe do some planning in the room. So we didn't rush to get up and had breakfast at our place then did some catching up on emails etc and planning. It's difficult to get presents because you don't want to carry anything else around that's not really needed, but yesterday I did get out to the 7 eleven and get something for him not very exciting but I managed to get a cake and candles! In the evening we went out for a walk and to get something to eat, we went to their huge night market which had all sorts if stalls. We watched an ice cream making stall which had a metal plate which stays frozen then they pour different flavoured liquids onto it then as they mix it it starts to freeze. It looked great! We found a place to get a birthday beer, it was called The Red Lion ( how British!) we had some drinks there and rather than get a meal we got some Thai snacks like spring rolls etc. But if you wanted you could get steak and kidney pie and quiche Lorraine. After this we walked through the night market some more and I bought a handbag, this is only the second handbag in six months, I'm doing well. We had a drink in an Irish pub before finding a tuk tuk to take us back to our hotel. When we got there it was all locked up with shutters pulled down, a little worrying until we saw a side entrance where you could ring a bell to be let in. Once in we'd realised we had hardly any water left but we had hoped we could cope until morning. We couldn't so in the early hours James nipped out to the 7 eleven, we slept much better after that.
