We all tried to sleep in, trying to catch up on some sleep but the room is so hot it's really hard to get any decent sleep. The fan just seems to blow hot air around. At around 11.00am we asked for the second night and got some breakfast from the guesthouse. Sam and Steph went to post office, Steph is sending 7kg of stuff home, the price of that is going to be very scary.
We went back to the room to have a sort. When they came back we asked what the plans were for today plus when are we getting the train to Cambodia. They had bad news, it is still bank holiday so the post office was closed. Also bad news James been reading about Cambodia border crossing and visa, looks like some bribes may have to get paid. We talked about it for a while, since both girls have quite large parcels to send home it makes sense for them to wait another day so they can get rid of their weight of the parcels. So we decided to stay with them as crossing the border in a four will be much better. There are two trains, the first is at 5.55am and the second 1.05pm. We have decided one more night in Bangkok then the train at 5.55am, this way we can get across the border and to Siem Reap all in one day. We'll use our extra Bangkok day to get as many things booked and organised as possible for the rest of our trip. We did a little planning and then headed out to get a few shopping bits we need seen as we will only have eight days in Cambodia and then South East Asia will be finished. Everywhere else will get expensive after Cambodia. While we were out Sam and Steph were still talking about getting their tattoos and finding somewhere good to get one done. They noticed a sign on Khao San road and we walked upstairs to the shop. They inquired about prices etc and got some drawings done. Sam was happy with an outline of a bird and Steph is going to work on her elephant. They ended up paying a deposit and making an appointment for tomorrow afternoon at 5pm! On coming out Steph said she felt sick and couldn't believe what they've just done. They were both laughing though as they were saying this. We got a taxi back to the guesthouse, James and I got showers and went to bed but Steph and Sam were up for quite a while perfecting Steph's elephant.
