Brie & Trent's Travels
Our jouney to the Alhambra began with a long hike up a hill... we didn't realize that there were buses that took you there until we saw them flying by... oh well. We got there before they opened so we were able to get tickets fairly quickly.
The Alhambra reminded me a lot of the Alcazar in Sevilla. But I think I might like the Alcazar better. I am glad that we saw one of the biggest monuments in southern spain. It is amazing as you can see in the pictures how ornate the entire place was. Because Muslims don't use any pictures or symbols they have very interesting designs carved on their walls.
After the Catholics took over the Alhambra they constructed some of their own buildings... however they were nothing in comparison. There were fountains and running water everywhere which I loved.
After the Alhambra Trent and I headed to a Kebab place to eat a chicken gyro which was delicious. We ate it in La Plaza Mayor and headed back to the hostel for a well needed siesta.
After waking up we cruised around the center of the town, and did some shopping. I wish I could buy whatever I want and not have to carry it around... oh well. I think I would have bought sooo many things here.
We tried to go to a teteria, tea house, but it was too hot to drink any tea... but that would've been nice in the winter.
Now we are waiting for the Tapas tour which should be goodtimes... we are going around to tapas bars with people in our hostel. It is great.. a beer costs about 1.5e and you get a free tapa with it. YUM... they were so delicious last night I can't wait until tonight. I ate some ham last night and it was good... no anchovies though. I can't do it.
Well tomorrow we wake up early and catch our first cheap flight to Barcelona... I can't wait to put on my suit and swim en el oceano.
Lovin'it!!
