WELCOME HOME!!! You certainly had a great adventure. Thank you guys for all the wonderful journal entries. We especially liked Briana's decsriptions of the meals and Trent's very funny anecdotes. Please don't get too annoyed by having to tell your stories over and over again -- a lot of people will want to hear them. Once you've de-bugged, maybe we could have a big party and put you two on stage for the crowd!

Can you say "Travel Weary?". Okay, bedbugs, airport delays, broken equipment and hostile natives, and a brush with avian flu might make anyone a little edgy. Actually, we have carefully orchestrated the whole thing wanting to make sure you 1) returned to the US and 2) had exciting stories to tell when you are in your rocking chairs.
Can't wait to catch up on all the stories that didn't quite make it to prime time. If the gorilla suit missed on the first pass, I'm sure you will be able to keep us entertained for a long time.
Keep away from all of those temptations in Amsterdam, otherwise bedbugs will be the least of your concerns. Remember that those liberal ideas in Amsterdam may not translate well to Spain or the US, so don't take along any "souvenirs".
Dad says....Wash, wash, wash, sterilize, sterilize, sterilize, fumigate, fumigate, fumigate. I expect your luggage may be left out in the garage until we get Corky's Pest Control over to the house. I'm sure you're sick of wearing those same clothes anyway. We've kept all of your stylin' Del Mar Fair shirts (Dr. Suess) so you don't need to be concerned. Dad is threatening to hose you off in the front yard before entering the house. Don't take it personal. The other option, which you might think preferable, is a dip in the Pacific Ocean. Well, the bacteria count might be able to overcome those pesty European wildlife.
Clean bed, clean clothes and warm hugs are waiting.
Love you tons.

Happy Landing, Brie and Trent! Or, as folks in Milwaukee would say, "Come good home." We here in Kansas City, have vicariously enjoyed your fabulous vacation. Thank you for sharing it.

Hi kids, yes, we had the feeling with the Hungarians, but I think they are just impatient. For us, in 1984, Budapest was such a glory after gloomy old Prague (not the same at all now) we just loved Buda & Pest.
Be sure and go see what is left of the "Wall". I have not been to Berlin, but have been to Germany a lot. I think they are a bit difficult. Very smart and impatient.
Steve and I were just in Amsterdam, and I thought they were much cooler, stand-offisher, than I had remembered. I think they blame us for the London/Spain subway attacks. Maybe just my imagination. See what you think, Bree.
Anyway, what a trip! I knew you would love Vienna, but you didn't see the horses! Aw well, another time, it was too hot.
See you soon, Grandma

Hey Bri - Hope your travels continue to be fun & safe. I also hope the police in Hungary didn't pull you over & blackmail you into paying them cash for the return of your passports/visas. We were lucky we had a journalist riding with us when that occured. Take Care & ENJOY! Billy and Raphaëlle Hiel

Trent, you actually ate HUNGARIAN GOULASH! That is so cool. Not many can say that. Remember when we ate French bread?
Your adventure sounds so great. Keep looking for the local nooks and crannies.
Take care. Don't let the bed bugs bite...

Trent, I sent you an e-mail, but you haven't opened it, yet. The bed bugs are extremely tenancious and will follow you everywhere unless you keep exterminating them with several treatments. Do not delay -- wash ALL your clothes and fumigate your luggage regularly or you'll be a couple of Johnny Appleseeds for Eurpoean bed bugs! Or as that same American leader may have said, "ICH BEEN BED b*****S!"
