Brie & Trent's Travels
Hello all.. we arrived in Sevilla yesterday afternoon to realize how hot it actually gets in Europa in the summer... whoa... we hear that Italy is hotter so we are bracing ourselves and enjoying the AC.
Our hostel is more like a hotel which is really nice. We have our own room and bathroom, both which are really clean and COLD... yea for AC. So we we spent the day walking around.. nothing was open because it was Sunday, but we were able to go into the cathedral which was amazing. I saw it when I studies abroad here 2 years ago, but it was all under construction then.
We ran into Dave, a PLHS alumni.. odd.. small world it is. We walked around with him and his gf, got some lunch and met up later to watch the futbol game. It was a great experience. We were in this small cafe which was one of the few that were open and it was full of people. Surprisingly there were more French fans in the cafe. Trent and I still cheered for Italy... well Trent cheerd for both. I ate alfredo pasta.. yum.. no more spanish food for a moment. But Trent had some yummy paella and shared with me... the spanish experience. We also went to see flamenco that night which was really cool and mellow bwecause it was sunday.
the show was free and a local spot with a red door hidden with no name on the door. im glad i was here before or else we would have never found it. we drank calimochos which are wine and coke. i was telling trent that it is the spaniards sangria.. and he was quite surprised at how tasty it was.
we walked home to come across a group of italians in the plaza near the cathedral jumping and splashing in the fountain... soo fun.. they were chanting italian victory signs and had italian flags wrapped around their necks... it was great.
i got us lost on the way home in true sevilla style.. but we made it back...eventually...
i have to get going to wake trent up.. we are going to try to go see the plaza de toros, the sevilla bullring, before we head out to granada this afternoon.
love you
