We woke up in our own time without the attendant banging on the door as we were arriving late morning, or so we thought. Our train ended up being delayed by 2.5 hrs so when we eventually got off the train in Hendaye to reserve our TGV trains we were very much over it. Luckily we managed to get the trains we wanted so we took the Euskotren back to Irun-Bentak where we had booked a cheap Ibis as everything in San Sebastian was expensive due the film festival. After quickly showering and freshening up we took the train once again to San Sebastián and wandered towards the beach area which was very inviting on this hot day. I walked down to the water's edge and had a bit of a paddle in the cool water then Sean and I went to wander the old town area to find some dinner. This area was strewn with Tapas bars but despite having tasty plates piled up along the bar none of them seemed to have any prices on them so we settled on having a normal meal and ordered a Paella & beer each which was ok but not nearly as good as Barcelona. The sun was starting to set as we walked back to the station for our train back to Irun & despite our air con not working we were both soon asleep as always pretty b*****ed after an overnight train.
