It was still a boiling night, though by 6am the cloud started to roll in and notched the temperature down what felt like 10c. We had our last breakfast in Madeline, and waited for an Uber van. The kids found a metro vent working right out the front - where was this yesterday?
Off to Gare du Nord, we could find the perfect place but we re-did the photo on the concourse just four years later. All morning Boo was asking if we were going to get a "Paddington" train, initially I kept telling her we were heading to St Pancras not Paddington. "No daddy, with the table" ahh, the four seats facing each other with a table in the middle, like in the movie Paddington - well we did.
Our trip was event free, though yesterday we heard there were riots and line blockages that kept people baking in these cans for 7 hour delays - ouch! Just after the Orangina kicked in someone started to loosen their grasp of behavioural control. We threatened to leave her at home tonight - "No Daddy, I am going - I bought a dress for this occasion!"
We headed off to meet the wedding party, on arrival Boo was worried she was overdressed and didn't want to come in, a hug from Evie and a second later it was all washed away and Evie had a new courtesan for the evening. Great evening meeting the families and friends - it's going to be a fantastic day tomorrow!
Set up in Piccadilly we couldn't be luckier - literally across the road from everything, we have three theaters on our footstep and 3am club thumping next door. I woke up this morning to the 6am ring of empty kegs bouncing in to the back of the collection truck, better than a pigeon :)
