Tuesday 23rd July-last few days of travels- booked bus from Bath to Gatwick for Thursday - fly home Friday- arrive late Saturday. Hot today. Caught the Hop on / Hop off up Jane Austen house - interesting - but didn’t do a tour. Around the corner were the Assembly Rooms - a place for music and dancing from 1771. Great 18th c chandeliers. Now houses a wonderful Fashion Museum - fantastic display - 1600’s to now. Up to the Royal Crescent - architectural brilliance. Walk along the Avon to Pulteney Bridge - then thru the markets to Guildhalll ( another beautiful 18th c building) - in to the Victorian Art Gallery. Bath is so elegant with so many Georgian buildings- can see Jane and cohorts meandering along the streets gossiping!!!!
Short break for a cuppa at the apartment - then out to dinner- so quiet after 6 - not sure where the other tourists go to - but enjoy the peace without the gaggle.
