Monday 22nd July- off we set to Bath by train- changed at Didcot Parkway. Room not ready so left luggage and went for a walk - beautiful town - white limestone buildings evoking the grandeur of 18th century life amongst the cobbled laneways. Went in to the Bath Abbey- being renovated- a site of a religious building going back centuries. Checked out the Hop on /Hop off for tomottow. Lunch at “Bill’s” - food seems very reasonable here compared to London. We settled in to our apartment - it is huge and so close to everything. Booked dinner for Wednesday( out last travel night) then spent hours at the Roman Baths ruins. What a magnificent way to present history - the depiction of Roman life and how the baths played a significant religious as well as entertainment part of life BC. Note- seagulls are huge and extremely loud
