HI to all our fellow Destiny followers another day in the outback was completed again, we travelled to Longreach safely ( my turn to drive again, no kangaroo strike this time, we got one several days ago but luckily no serious damage to the car or us but the kangaroo flew quite some way and bounced off the road into the bush) and we are having a great time together. Mike sits so uneasy in the passenger seat and tries ever so hard not to "advise me" of the best way to drive, and today there was no 70's music. Anyway we stopped at Barcaldine and this place was interesting with in its hayday had no less then 14 pubs in the one street!! Most had burnt to the ground over the years but there was one that had stood the test of time and it was magnificent. It had pressed tin walls and ceilings a big grand staircase just wonderful. This is the place of the "Tree of Knowledge" which is so impressive in the middle of the street towering over the old railway station. Hang on is that a train I see coming in to stop, b***** me its the "Spriit of the Outback" coming to a gentle stop 21 hours after leaving Brisbane, Off loading inquisative passengers for a quick 30 min look before boarding again for their destination of Longreach. We had a good coffee and hot chocy and drove off toward Longreach too racing the train all the way (we just won). We have a big day planned tomorrow so its love to you all while I get the dinner prepared so Mike can do his "BBQ thing"
