Another school morning including a Daddy science lesson before taking Daniel's "Sea Hawk 2" onto the lake. As the lake was so big we rowed close to the shoreline trying to avoid usual obstacles such as rocks and boats but also unusual obstacles such as teenage boys hitting golf balls into the lake!!! After it rained most of the day (and reading about hottest days since 1976 in the UK - what?), we headed out late afternoon to food-shop like it is almost Christmas (well actually Midsummer). The shops are closing for 2 days and so we have bought more food than we could possibly need - just like Christmas except we forgot the turkey - ridiculous really as we generally have enough food for a couple of days as we never know when we'll find a supermarket but...

A lazy day easing into the campsite and finding our way round town before finishing the day with minigolf. We have had a family ban on minigolf for several years as it always ends in tears but... who would believe it.... we managed the first family minigolf of the edventure WITHOUT falling out. I actually think there may even have been some polite congratulations for good shots - what has happened to us??!

We woke to a beautiful day at the top of our mountain in Oslo but with a long drive ahead we set off first thing to head North East, quickly leaving the city behind, for several hours of nothing as we drove along quiet roads through the forests of Norway (past the largest pile of logs we have ever seen waiting to be loaded onto a train).
