We were picked up at our campsite and then driven 20 minutes into the forest where we met our guide and fellow rafters (5 exchange students from Singapore). Tracy was expecting a rafting-centre building to get changed in but were told to go into the woods instead!
After carrying the raft to the water's edge, we all jumped in the boat and set-off on our 10K adventure down the river. The children were at the front and loving getting wet as we hit the rapids. After a while my arms were hurting but then I realised Tracy and I were doing all the hard work while the 5 students just chatted away!
As there hadn't been much snow this year the river wasn't that deep so we got stuck a few times on rocks. With 1k to go the guide asked who wanted to jump in and the next second I hear a splash as Daniel jumped in! He got quite a shock as the water was freezing so we quickly pulled him out. A couple of the students jumped in and Tracy goaded me in by saying that I would be 40 in a few days. I stupidly jumped in and yes it was Baltic… As we were all shivering now we powered the last 1k to our destination, dry and warm. I was still cold an hour later!!!
After a warm lunch back at the campsite, we drove an hour to the campsite at Ljubljana (capital of Slovenia) to get settled in before heading to the city tomorrow morning.
