We woke this morning with the rain still relentlessly pounding down on Bob and so any plans of beaches and bike rides were quickly abandoned and we decided to have a lazy day instead - only for the rain to stop and blue skies appear as though we had dreamt the storms... by which point it was too late to squeeze in the planned bike ride but we decided to still head for the Tapada Nacional de Mafra (Dom Joao V's old hunting grounds) and hike one of the trails instead. We spotted deer roaming the grounds with us and also spotted the Cork Oak trees that we have been learning about and thoroughly enjoyed the walk, wishing we could have had longer in the park to spot more wildlife.
We then headed for Mafra to find an aire for the night only to spot a lively Christmas market and couldn't resist buying a cork Christmas tree and some tinsel for Bob.
