¡Hola todos!
I´ll be home two weeks from today, can you believe it? That´s crazzzy! I miss you all so much and am really excited to be home in just a couple weeks to be with you all again :o)
This past weekend we visited the city of Granada. It was beautiful!! It was about a 3 hour bus ride on which we saw the beautiful mountains that surround the city. It was very HOT! We visited the Alhambra, which translates as the Red Palace. The palace was originally an Islamic palace belong lastly to King Mutamid. Granada was the last Islamic city in Spain to be conquered by Ferdinand and Isabelle. There is still a lot of Muslim influence remaining in the city. We toured the entire palace and I was amazzed! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Granada and told us lots of little tid-bits about the palace. Ferdinand and Isabelle are both buried in Granada so we also visited their tombs in the chapel where they are held.
This coming weekend I am going to stay (for once ;o) in Sevilla! I received a message from my friend Alicia, from Naperville, IL and goes to Purdue (we have the same major), who is studying in Palma de Mallorca, Spain (where I was originally planning on studying) and she might come to visit me this weekend in Sevilla!!! So I´m really excited and am hoping that she does decide to make the journey over here because I would looove to see her!
I have my midterm exam this Wednesday and don´t think it should be too bad, but I´ll still be studying mostly the next couple days ;o) My clas travels around Seville almost everyday so I´m having the opportunity to see a lot of Seville that I otherwise probably would not. My teacher is still a little much for me, we all agree she´s no Ana :o( but she´ll have to do.
My family is taking me out for flamenco on Friday of this week so I think that should be fun :o) And, I´ve decided that I´m going to go to Morocco with Stephanie and her family while I´ll be staying with them in the apartment they are renting. That last weekend before I´ll be traveling home, we are going to take a long daytrip on the Saturday of that weekend. Her family will be arriving this coming weekend so they´ll get to spend about 10 days all together in Spain and they are all traveling home then on the 2nd of July.
I hope you are all doing well :o) Mom told me Clara is now rolling over! I´m sure she is just as cute as ever! I hope all the papas had nice Father´s days! I talked to mine...he seemed to be having a good day!
I want a big cheeseburger, I want some Milky Way, I want my Reston :o) I miss my friends and mi familia! Having a great time, but I´m realllllllly excited to be with you all again! Keep missing me, see you soon! :o)
¡Adios!
