This morning we packed up our tent earlier than we would have liked because we couldn't watch our tent get pushed around by the wind anymore (Big Bully). We had a quick drive to Fort Collins, Colorado, the home of Colorado State University. We stopped at a cafe for a Fort Collins norm, breakfast burritos. Then we walked around town and the campus. There was barely any car traffic on the city's wide streets, and it seemed that everyone was on a bike.
Next, we drove just another hour to Boulder, CO. It was so nice to only drive an hour and a half today. We went to the famous Pearl Street Mall and I showed Andrew around the outdoor pedestrian mall (yes, it was designed by the same person that designed the ped mall in Iowa City) We ate some lunch and sampled some beers at BJ's. Then while finishing those beers I discovered on a Boulder map that the Boulder Beer Company had a free tour at 2pm, which was quickly approaching. We rushed over there for an informative tour lead by a Chicago native. After the tour we tasted 9 of their beers and watched the replay of the Cubs victory from the night before, against, oddly enough, the Colorado Rockies. The nice folks at Boulder Beer put out half full pitchers for the 8 people on the tour and just let us drink as long as we wanted. We tasted beers such as Mojo Rising and Hazed and Infused. So the count for beers tasted today was at 16! After that fun we took a stroll down the Boulder Creek path. For dinner we checked out a local Mexican place where we stuffed ourselves. It was a really nice relaxing day and now we are recharged for Rocky Mountain National Park.
