We finally arrived in West Yellowstone today. As we speak we are both sat having a Snake River lager in a small wooden hut on the Rustic Wagon RV park.
We left San Jose on Sunday 18 at 7.50am in 'Ray Ray', the plan was to get to Battle Mountain a mere 480 miles away. But in the end we drove about 800 miles and ended up in Twin Falls. Which has plently of RV parks but not camping RV parks... the site office was closed for the night but there was a sign saying strictly no tents or cars! But seeing as it was pitch black and we had no where else to go we shoved some money through their letter box, parked up trying not to make a sound and went to bed hungry!!!!
Then we got up early in the morning and left before anyone realised we had been there......
The whole drive was incrediable or 'awesome' (for you Emma!) leaving the cities of California going up through the mountains and then deserts of Nevada before entering the farming state that is Idaho, cows and corn everywhere before residing in Montana, big sky country.
After leaving Twin Falls in a cloud of dust we took a gentle four hours drive through Idaho to West Yellowstone via the magnificent Messa Falls (see the photos). Tomorrow we hit the super volcanoe that is Yellowstone National Park.
Ben has been on Bear watch for two days still no sightings. Although, we did mistake a rather large black cow for a bison for a while!!!

Dunc Still no Bears? I think you need to hang a large steak from the back of "Ray Ray" and drive around Yellowstone really slow!
