Ben and Marie's American Road Trip
Straight back to it today, we were heading on to Nashville relatively early because the drive was quite long. It was another lovely day, and once we had the tent packed up after it had dried off, we had our usual cereal in the car on the drive and made as much headway before stopping as we could. We were driving until around 1/2 before we stopped, managing half of the drive all before stopping. We stopped and had Long John Silvers, keeping up our challenge to try and not eat at the same outlet twice in a month. Long John Silvers do chicken and fish, together, slightly different to the UK in that sense. Obviously I had to try it, and Marie had a fish finger sandwich. I felt a bit sketchy after the meal, but it soon wore off, there was a lot of food for not a lot of money, but i guess that's America for you. Driving through to Nashville, we saw the National Corvette Museum advertised in Kentucky, and it was really close to the interstate we were on, so we popped in. The spontaneous visit turned out to be really worthwhile, we found out about the sinkhole beneath the museum a few years earlier and saw the state of some of the cars that fell into it, we also saw the ones that were restored having fallen in, and they were both equally incredible. Some of the corvettes in the museum were outrageously pretty and I was quite jealous, most of them were owned by other people and loaned or donated to the museum. Marie bought the traditional postcard as we left, whether she had the intention of sending it or not was another story entirely. We set off again, and arrived in Nashville around 6, we were staying in the car tonight as there was severe weather warnings for both wind and rain. We headed out to see what was on Music Valley where we were staying before getting back to camp to sleep for the night.
