Becky Bravo's Adventures
Today was awesome. We woke up not so early to catch a 9am van to take us to our ATV tour. This was just a half a day trip, and was well worth it. The drive to the place was only about 20 minutes, and after our long day on a bus for the Nicaragua tour, this short trek felt great.
We got to choose if we wanted to ride on the beach, or through some towns and the jungle. We chose the second one. We did some serious off-roading. Like, I had so much mud all over me. It was so much fun though! And even better, it just so happened that nobody else had signed up for a tour at our time, so we had a private ATV ride, just Jaime and me with the guide!!
We rode for about an hour through some streets and through the jungle, muddy water and all, and even got to stop and see some Howler Monkeys!! We stopped at a little store for some snack and water, then finished our tour.
Once we got back to the main place, we got to do some shopping, and our driver was waiting for us. But before we headed back to the van, he walked us around a bit and showed us some wildlife that was out. we saw some rather large lizards on the roof, and up in some trees, and even saw some Capuchin Monkeys! Even better, he had some food in his hand, and gave it to me, and one of the monkeys climbed down and grabbed my hand (very gently, it was so cute) and grabbed the food from my hand. This monkey also had a baby on her back. They were so adorable!!!!!
When we got back to the resort, we had to take major showers to get all the mud off, but then headed down to the main area for more pool time, and of course lunch, which we just ate at the main buffet.
For dinner, we made our hibachi reservation on time. And it all worked out for the best that last night we missed it, because we sat next to the most awesome family from England during dinner. The parents decided to treat their daughters to 2 weeks in Costa Rica, so they had been at this resort for almost 2 weeks already. Jaime was in heaven because he was able to talk soccer, and I bonded with the two daughters over the BBC series Sherlock. The cook was fantastic, and super funny. The food was great, and after dinner, we went to one of the other bars, and hung out with this family for a few more hours. They were just genuine, nice people and we were sad we met them at the end of their trip. They have to leave tomorrow.
Tomorrow we have another adventure as we booked a day trip into the rain forest - about an hour and 45 minutes away - to do some hiking and see some waterfalls.
