On our first full day in Sihanoukville i got to have a bacon sandwich!! Then we went to the beach, which was lush! The sea was so warm but we did keep getting hassled for massages and to buy bracelets, which wasn't so good! We spent most of the day on the beach and then headed out for some food and cocktails. The next day we had a bit of a lie in and ten headed to the beach again. The weather seemed a bit overcast today, like there was going to be a storm. I wasn't feeling too great so I stayed at the hotel- luckily they had a film channel!! Then we went to an Italian restaurant and the food was lush! Then we went to go to this party on an island. We were queueing to get in the boats to go across to the island (the boats were sort of one step up from little fishing boats). The weather wasn't perfect but it seemed ok. After a while it started raining but it wasn't too bad. Then the rain got worse so everyone was huddling in the middle of the boat. Then the rain got really really bad- hailing at one point!! Ten there was loads of thunder and lightning and I don't think I've ever seen lightning so bad!!! It doesn't sound too bad but it was actually terrifying!! We knew it was bad when the Cambodian driver got his life jacket on. We were basically driving right into the storm!! We were all sat, huddled and soaking wet, in life jackets in the middle of the boat! What was supposed to take 45 mins to well over an hour. When we finally got to the island it was still raining, so everyone was huddled under the bar. Eventually it stopped raining and we ended up having a pretty good time. Luckily the boat journey back was much better. So apart from a bit of a heart attack and a wet passport, we made it. The next day we chilled out and went another beach. This one was a bit quieter and much less hassling for massages and buying bracelets! I did fall asleep an get a bit burnt :( but burritos for lunch made up for it :) after we went to the cinema and then got noodles for dinner. Back at the hostel we went to pack and si got greeted with a cockroach running down her face. It then crawled up the bunk bed onto my bed and by the time the guy from the hostel couldn't find it we had to try and carry on with the beast in the room! Suddenly Emily saw it again and luckily guy number 2 from the hostel managed to find it and chase it out. So after we had survive cockroach number 1, me and Emily were skyping, Siriol found another one on the bathroom floor! But again, luckily guy number 3 from the hostel managed to come in and kill it!! So with hopefully no more cockroaches in sight we managed to get some sleep before another early morning bus to Phnom Penh.
