The next morning we had to get up at 3:45!!! To get a six hour train to take us to the border. Once we got off the train we had to get a tuk tuk to the actual border crossing and go through all the passport stuff. It wasn't as horrendous as I thought, but on the Cambodian side there were loads of people telling you to go to places and it was hard to know who to trust! But actually they were all genuinely helping! We then had to get a free shuttle bus and then a three hour bus to actually get to siem reap. When we finally got there we dumped our stuff in the hotel and went out for dinner and then drinks. Siem reap is really nice- quite chilled and a lot smaller, a bit more rural but still has roads of bars and shops etc. The next morning we didn't get up until gone 12 so went for a leisurely breakfast/lunch and then chilled at the hotel. Then we got a tuk tuk to get our tickets for Angkor Wat for tomorrow and got to see some of it while the sun was setting. We had to get up at half four the next morning to get to Angkor Wat to see the sunrise. We got sucked in by breakfast as we were all starving, only to be charged $4 for basically a bit of bread and cheese! Not impressed. There were loads of people waiting to get photos of the sunrise, and afterwards we had another look around Angkor Wat itself. Then we went around lots of other temples. I actually preferred some of them more than Angkor Wat! The next day was another early morning to get a bus to phnom penh and then a bis to Sihanoukville. The first bus was pretty nice and was supposed to take about 5 hours. Half way we stopped for a break, only to find the bus had broken down >:( so we could either wait two or so hours for another bus to arrive, or get a taxi. We ended up getting a taxi (15 people) it was so hot an squishy and that tool another two and a half hours!! Then we had to get a bus to Sihanoukville. That was supposed to take 4 hours but ended up taking 5!! They seem to have a big difficulty in driving up hill here because it's generally so flat!! Infancy one tuk tuk driver said he had to charge the price he was asking because he'd have to drive up a hill!! Finally we arrived in Sihanoukville. We hadn't pre booked any accommodation and when we went around asking, literally everywhere was full!! Finally we found a hotel and managed to get the price a bit lower. It's pretty nice but the manager guy is a bit strange- not very welcoming and just something a bit weird.
