Retired & Traveling
Our alarm went off at 5:15 am today and it took me 3 full minutes to realize what that annoying noise was! :)) We threw on some clothes, finished up last minute packing, and met Pam and Mike for breakfast--our last time to hit the buffet.
We were to meet for our bus to the airport at 7:40 am, so we headed down a few minutes early and they told us they were already boarding our group! First time ever we have left early for a bus ride, guess they are ready to get rid of us! :)) We did learn that about 1400 people were staying on the ship to arrive in NYC. After they arrive in New York, they will travel on to Canada. What a fun trip that would be, just in time to see the trees beginning to change colors.
We arrived at the airport way too early, so we found a place to have a coke and wait until the Air Canada counter opened. We got in line at 9:00, finally were able to check our bags and were on our way to the gate. There was a VERY long line for security, then another fairly long line for passport checks...it was 10:30 am by the time we were actually heading to the gate.
The plane is very nice--a charger for cell phones with easy access, nice TV screen with all kinds of movies and tv shows. True test will be what they serve us for lunch. Princess has the bar set pretty high. :))
We did book our next cruise--15 days from LA to Ft. Lauderdale via the Panama Canal...but not until October of next year. Something to look forward to!
So here we are in Toronto, Canada. Finally got a chance to use our global entry cards, fun to bypass all the people standing in line waiting to go through customs.
It's almost time to board our flight to Houston. Can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight!
