Steve was on the ball again this morning with bacon butties. Soon out the house and set off to go fishing. Landed at Cable Beach, started walking down the stairs towards what we though was the beach. Soon as the path ended that was it... Straight in the rocks at the cliff edge. Started off quite ok but further round got more and more dangerous. Decisions were made to go back and fish somewhere else. We stopped at The Gap. A 25ft sheer drop into the Southern Ocean. Stood on a play form looking over it as the massive waves crashed and sprayed the water up high. The kids were loving it climbing over the rocks. We all then swooped round to Middleton Beach to fish! Had a few bites but nothing else! Steve caught a Blowfish, horrible little things. Steve mentioned the marina may be good to fish off the Jetty. Soon as we casted in the waters there we were getting loads of bites but no fish. Then Brad caught a Zebra Fish, decent size to. Then he caught a Travalli, me and Stephen were beginning to give up hope. Then BOOM, Stephen pulled out a Travalli too. All of a sudden there was a rush of little fish everywhere like they were being chased. WOW then some huge fish that was hungry. Me and Steve got excited and placed full Coral Prawns on some bigger hooks. BANG I'd got a big bite started pulling it in but it snap nearly straight away! As I'm re-rigging again Steve gets a huge fish on the end! His reel was going mental and started walking down the jetty to where it out. Soon as he tried pulling it SNAP! Gutted, fishing over. We decided to go to the cafe again to have food. The boys then went in the Ocean for a swim. The suns beaming today, I'm burnt AGAIN!
