Said goodbye to Michelle at the Colliefields Backpackers this morning. Made a start on the track. We are now relaying the track to the end due to continuous injuries. We've eaten up a load of Kilometres today between us. Arrived in a very small quirky town called Balingup. Had a coffee and looked round some of the small shops, mainly all craft shops. I walked a good 2km extra because I saw a sign for a cheese factory only to find it's not produced cheese since 1930's. It's now the largest craft shop in WA ( I wanted cheese ). Came through the gates if Jalbrook Cottages down a long driveway to be greeted by Molly the Labrador. We were then met by Allen and Jan. They started to show us round this amazing tranquil place. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The whole grounds are Asian themed. We were shown to our cottage, amazing wood burner, BBQ, veranda over looking a river. They have Alpacas on the grounds and produce there own wool for clothing. Jan showed me and Steve round some of the other cottages with hot tubs. This place would make a romantic get away (not me, Steve and Hugh). Jan informed us that fresh bread will be on its way and she has baked us some homemade biscuits. We have a lady called Sue who is going to come and give us all massages (feel like royalty). Jan and Allen have invited us up to their own house for tea, pizza made in a pizza over with a glass of wine. Think we'll be chatting with these lovely hosts till the stars come out (yes this place has made an outstanding impression on me). Hugh is currently our fire starter with the log burner.
Well we went to the main house and joined Allen & Jan. They also had their farm stayers Tom & Jess from Holland (ishn't that verd). What a beautiful open plan house. Jan cooked slow roasted chicken, then home grown potatoes, sweet potato and Butternut Squash, salad and home made bread. For pudding Jess had baked a Dutch pudding with ice cream. Felt very spoilt at the 5* resort of Jalbrook. Allen treated us to a few glasses of red (it's never tasted so good). Came back to the cottage and stocked the fire up with logs for the night.
