We've got to Peaceful Bay. Mine and Steve's injuries were still playing up from the 38km the other day. Hugh managed 12km in the rain. We got ourselves in a backpackers to use as a base. We can then do most I the track in the area. Really good idea as it's flooded in quite a lot of places down here, so lots of diversions. Me & Steve did a bit round the coast in between searching for crabs in the rocks. Also witnessed these small birds dive bombing for fish, like bloody missiles. We decided to get the rods out and fish the Southern Ocean from the beach. First couple of casts and I found I'd caught a small Whiting, that was the only catch of the day.
Woke this morning and decided to get out there all together and do parts of the Bibbulmun. We walked 8km to the inlet. Steve spotted a big fish in the clear water, closer look and it was a small shark about 2ft long eating the little fish in the area. We stood and watched it for a while, could see it clear as day. Quite a few surfers out today the rip was good! Wish I had a board would be out there. Got to the inlet and came back. Steve said it would be a good idea to swim with the shark if it's still there. Great idea, straight in with one dive and straight back out for me...swim over and still alive hahaha! Sampled the local king fish that was caught this morning, tasted awesome, thanks Steve :-)
Been to Conspicuous Cliffs today with Steve, Hugh was sleeping. Me and Steve had a ball chasing these crabs about. All the different colours were awesome to see. The beach was untouched, just us two and the massive swell in the ocean. Took some amazing pics. Hugh's now woke up and gone for wine (problems)!
Me and Steve took on the Ocean again tonight and our little shark popped up to say hi to us. Didn't catch anything tonight, had loads of bites though! It started raining so we packed up, saw a full rainbow (no gold treasure though).
