Day 5

After the first late wake up of the trip we packed our bags and got ready to leave tel aviv for the weekend. Whilst Gav was staying with his sister in Tel Aviv and Azza was heading to Jerusalem, I was heading down to Arad

After dropping Az off at the bus station we hit the road, stopping only for a quick Hummus break at Chalil "the best place in the country". Once we arrived, there were quick hellos to Moti, Mau, Leeati, Magal and the girls, and then we were back in the car on our way to Shabbas dinner and a planned midnight walk.

After a long drive we arrived at a rest stop and had dinner and a play on the playground. After some beers, chicken and a lot of photos we headed to the start of our walk at Nachal Chavarim. Now that the sun had set and the stars were all already out, we walked in the dark, waiting for the moon to rise.

The place we walked was incredible. Massively high canyon walls, sheer drops in many directions, hundreds of stars and best of an phenomenal silence (besides Motis amazing singing). After a lot of jokes, walking and a couple of falls we made it to the end of our walk with the moon that finally rose lighting our way.

By then we were all stuffed and decided to head home. We attempted to fall asleep in the car, however Zivs trance music kept us up. Once we got back to Arad however, I was out like a light.
