Day 4
Shalom lacoolam (hello everyone)
As you all can tell my Hebrew is improving quick :). Hopefully by the end of the trip we can get a full entry in Hebrew.
Today we woke up early and flew out the door. Shira and Ziv dropped us at Reading bus station where we managed to do the most touristy thing possible and catch a roofless bus around the city. We were on the first tour of the day so the bus was pretty empty which was nice.
Once the tour had shown us everything to do in the city we headed to Jaffa and grabbed our first of I'm sure many falafels. We then wandered around the city making our way through many markets that seemed to sell everything you could find on the ground. After a quick visit to a shop that sold
Life-size models of many movie characters we walked back to Tel Aviv and headed to the beach.
After hanging out there for a couple of hours we decided to head home running into Ettie and Gina on the way. After a quick hangout with them we cabbed home, showered, changed into going out clothes and went back into the city.
On our walk in we stopped and met the guys from Aviv including the likes of Dan Michel, Joel Selby and Jarron Aizen, just to name a few. We grabbed a shwarma with them and then headed into the city to meet everyone from all the different programs.
By 11:30 it seemed like the entire Sydney community (with a hint of Melbourne) was in Tel Aviv, at least 100 of us. We all ended up on the roof of some apartments by the beach, an indescribable feeling. You had to really stop and think sometimes to realize you weren't back home and were in fact in Israel.
As we were still pretty jet lagged we headed home at about 2 in the fastest cab i had ever been in, wrapping off day 4 in an amazing way.
For everyone who is interested my phone number here is +972 0546034239. It's great hearing from everyone so keep sending through the love.
