Day 18
Before I write this message i must let you know that I am running on 4 hours sleep and so I apologize if this is not at its usual fantastic standard.
As we had finally retuned to tel aviv (after 2 days) we were eager to return to our favourite places in the city, our lounge chairs on the beach.
After grabbing a quick pizza, that's exactly where Az and I headed and remained for the rest of the day. As Gav was not feeling his best he joined us later on.
As wazzys search for Crepes the previous day had failed, once again he was on the hunt. Conveniently we happen to find them at the first place we tried, however due to the heat they were not as amazing to eat as imagined.
Every year in Tel Avjv there is an event called Layla Lavan a night in which several parts of city was open all night, parties are in the streets and performances are everywhere. Knowing we had to take advantage of this big night we each headed home to relax to ensure we would not crash too early.
At 10 we headed out for dinner, which we wolfed down when we heard that Zac and Aidan would be in Tel Aviv within the hour. After racing to their hostel we were informed that they were running on Jewish Mean Time and would not arrive for another half an hour.
Many hugs and celebrations occurred upon their arrival as the group was finally complete. We headed into their hostel only to find that they had been overbooked. Eventually all was sorted and they were finally upgraded to another hostel. After finding the hostel and putting down their stuff we eventually headed out and our all nighter began.
We once again met the entire Australian Jewish community at the beach and the five of us then headed off to a concert nearby. After realizing that all the bands were speaking Hebrew and we did not understand a word, we decided it would be best to bail and go find everyone else.
As it got later, people started to crumble under their need for sleep and slowly headed off home. But not us. With our redbulls in hand and Aidans no sleep mints from Korea we were going strong.....that was until about 3am
At 3 the first of our group caved with Aid and Zac calling it a night. By that stage they had been up for over a day so we allowed them to go. The three of us met some of the aviv guys and headed back to the beach to chill on the sand for a while, running in to the birthday girl Liora as well as some dancing rabbis on a truck (see picture) on the way.
By 4, the novelty of the beach had worn off and we headed towards a silent disco street party which unfortunately ended by the we got there. It was at this stage Gav went home for the night, leaving us two to fend for ourselves.
After hearing rumors of a citywide waterfight at 7am, Wazzy and I roamed the street for several hours more meeting people and attempting to kill time. However by 530, we decided that from the lack of other people knowing about it, this water fight was mearly a figment of someone's awesome
Imagination.
At that stage the two of us caved, proud of our efforts. By the time I walked in it was 6 and Adam was sprawled out all over his bed, including my side. The fantastic person that I was couldn't bear to wake him up and so I crashed on the couch. However I would soon find out it wouldn't be for long.
