Today we got up and said farewell to Trevor and Lou who flew home from Broome about 10:30. We packed up camp, filled up with petrol and picnic supplies and headed towards Broome. We stopped when we reached the Fitzroy River and did a spot of fishing and made some sandwiched for lunch. Cam threw his leftover bread in the river in small bits and before we knew it a swarm of hawks were swooping down and picking up the bread in their claws, it was an incredible sight. After an unsuccessful hour and a half if fishing we packed up and got back on the road to Broome. We arrived at our hotel (yay a real bed!) at about 3pm and checked in and jumped in the pool. It's a hot one today, when we were on the road the car said it was 38 degrees, although seaside here there is a nice breeze making it a perfect temperature. After a cool down and relax by the pool we took a drive in our 4 cars to famous Cable Beach, where we drove the cars onto the sand and along the beach a fair way, Cam managed to get himself bogged and Jamie had to pull him out with the hire car. We watched the sunset over the Indian ocean which was stunning, then headed back towards the hotel and then across the road to the Matsos Brewery where it was curry night so we had curries and tasted beer, including a mango beer which was sweet and quite yum. After dinner we were all stuffed so we called it a might, I think everyone was looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed for the first time in a while. It was good to have a clean shower too, although I couldn't get all the dirt off in one wash, I think it will take at least a few days to get clean.
