Not too early a start this morning, but early enough. We decided to start the day with a boat cruise along the Brisbane River. The cruise went east of the city, towards Newstead, and then turned around, back towards Southbank. It was lovely old boat, with great commentary from the crew. We enjoyed it very much. Today was Lisanne's last full day in Australia. Tomorrow evening she heads back to Europe again. We had a lovely breakfast this morning, and then headed off to the swimming pool to spend a few sunny hours sunning ourselves and cooling off in the water. Very nice. This morning we headed towards Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast. We stopped along the way at Australia Zoo, which was established by Steve Irwin (of Crocodile Hunter fame), but we decided to give it a miss given that it was incredibly busy there (school holidays) and given the price ($59.00 per person) and given the fact that we would only be there for a couple of hours. Our second day in Brisbane was a busy one. We spent some time lazing around the pool, and then headed up to the D'Aguilar National Park, to take in some scenic views. We stopped on our way up the mountains to have some lunch at a rather nice little cafe. We had a great view, whilst waiting for our food to arrive. This morning Lisanne and Mirne woke quite early. We slept in Harvey last night, parked in front of the dealership. Mirne rang Craig to see where he was, and he'd just arrived in Brisbane by train and was waiting for the car rental places to open. We had slept very deeply, given our stressful day yesterday, but it wasn't a long sleep as we went to bed very late.
