A long, hot day today. We were at the bus stop at 9.00 am, waiting to catch the bus to Dubbo Western Plains Zoo. This is quite a special zoo, as it has about 300 hectares of land available, so animals aren't just in your standard concrete enclosure. Today we left Cobar and headed for Dubbo - 301 km. It wasn't too hot today, I think we reached a maximum of 35 degrees in Dubbo. However, it's no longer a dry heat, not like we've experienced up to now. It's a much more humid heat, so that's something different to get used to. Very early start today - we were on the road before 7.30 am. We had arranged to stop at a truck centre to have our cab air conditioning re-gassed. So we did that and were on the road again by 8.30 am. It was soon apparent, however, that we wasted not only our time and money, but also whatever refrigerant gas was left in our airco system!
